SAD NEWS REACHED UAPMedia UK overnight as we learned of the passing of long-time UFO activist and proponent, Senator Harry M. Reid.

In his early political days, Senator Harry Mason Reid Jr was continually warned by his staff to stay away from the UFO subject. He was told it would ruin his career and his aspirations to lead the Democratic Party. They were wrong.

Several years later, with the help of Ted Stevens of Alaska and Daniel Inouye of Hawaii, Reid secured funding for a UFO program within the Department of Defence, which we now know was the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP) conducted in association with Robert Bigelow and his Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS).

By the time the program became public knowledge, Senator Reid had retired but regularly spoke on the subject of UAP, once stating “I think that I have opened the door to people not being afraid to talk about it.” We’re inclined to agree. Senator Reid helped to shift the stigma that has surrounded the subject for so long. We all stand on the shoulders of giants, and Senator Reid is one of the tallest.

In the years since the Pentagon’s now defunct program and the infamous Navy videos were thrust into the public eye, the US Government has passed legislation to establish a fully funded, 4-year study of UAP. This progress simply would not have taken place without the work of Senator Reid. He helped forge a path we now get to walk on together.
